Position Summary

The Wash Truck Operator is responsible for cleaning, detailing, and supporting the maintenance of construction equipment across the GTA and surrounding regions. Operating a company wash truck, this role delivers mobile washing, undercoating, and basic servicing while working closely with mechanics and operations.

 

This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring travel between sites and flexibility to work varied shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnight assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a wash truck to clean and detail heavy equipment at job sites and yards across Ontario
  • Perform pressure washing, interior detailing, and winter undercoating of equipment
  • Apply and replace decals, unit numbers, and company branding on equipment
  • Grease and lubricate equipment following wash procedures
  • Assist mechanics with basic field servicing and minor repairs as required
  • Coordinate equipment downtime with operations, plants, and customers
  • Provide professional on-site service and maintain strong working relationships with crews
  • Complete pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain a clean, compliant vehicle
  • Maintain accurate documentation including logbooks/E-Logs and service records
  • Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times

Requirements

Mandatory

  • Valid Class D license with air brake (Z) endorsement
  • Clean driver’s abstract and CVOR
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, evenings, nights, weekends as required, and occasional overnight/out-of-town assignments
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions year-round
  • Physical ability to perform manual labour, including lifting up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and handling hoses and equipment over extended distances
  • Comfortable using mobile technology (iPad/laptop) to complete daily documentation, logbooks (E-Logs), and basic reporting
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with supervisors and field teams

 

Preferred (Assets)

  • Experience operating commercial or service vehicles in construction or industrial environments
  • Previous equipment washing, detailing, or liquid handling experience
  • Mechanical aptitude or experience supporting equipment maintenance
  • Experience using electronic logbooks (E-Logs)
  • Strong attention to detail and customer service mindset

Compensation

$29.00-$30.50 per hour
