Job Summary
The Utilities Pipe Foreman supervises and coordinates the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility piping systems including water, sewer, stormwater, and gas lines. This role involves leading a crew, ensuring compliance with blueprints and safety standards, managing project schedules, and maintaining quality control.
Main Responsibilities
- Oversee daily crew activities and work assignments
- Interpret plans and specifications for pipe layout and installation
- Ensure OSHA compliance and jobsite safety standards
- Coordinate with other trades and project management
- Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
- Maintain material and equipment records
- Troubleshoot on-site challenges and adapt solutions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in utilities/underground construction
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills
- Knowledge of piping systems, grading, and site utility work
- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred
- Safety certifications (OSHA, First Aid)
- Ability to read construction blueprints
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Work Environment
Outdoor work in varying weather conditions; physical demands include standing, walking, and directing crew operations.
