Job Description: 

Mission

Prepares, controls and directs the project in compliance with the financial budget and all the rules relating to human and environmental safety.

Main Responsibilities

Includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Supervise and support the installation, testing, and commissioning of Overhead Contact Systems (OCS) on-site in accordance with approved designs, technical specifications, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate daily OCS construction activities with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal project teams to ensure alignment with the approved work programme.
  • Support the planning, engineering review, and site implementation of OCS works, including reviewing drawings, method statements, calculations, and technical submissions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and visits to monitor installation progress, workmanship quality, and compliance with design, technical, and QHSE requirements.
  • Assist in resolving on-site technical issues by liaising with OCS designers, engineering teams, contractors, and project managers.
  • Monitor and support quality control procedures related to OCS installation, including material verification and inspection of installed components.
  • Verify that OCS materials, equipment, and installation methods comply with project requirements, standards, and approved documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date site records, progress reports, inspection reports, and technical documentation related to OCS works.
  • Facilitate effective communication between the site team and design/engineering office to ensure smooth execution of OCS activities.
  • Support the preparation of progress updates, schedules, and technical reports for OCS works.
  • Participate in testing and commissioning activities, including inspection, verification, and documentation of OCS system performance.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company policies, industry standards, and local regulatory requirements, with particular focus on OCS safety and electrical protection.
  • Attend technical and coordination meetings and provide engineer-level input related to OCS implementation and site conditions.

Profile

Educational Requirements
•    Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant engineering discipline, such as: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering


Desired Knowledge / Experience
•    Experience in railway electrification projects, particularly involving overhead contact systems, is highly advantageous.
•    Proficiency in engineering design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar tools.
•    Strong understanding of electrical systems, load calculations, and mechanical principles related to OCS.
•    Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., AREMA, IEEE, or local standards).
•    Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
•    Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
•    Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
•    Experience in preparing technical reports, specifications, and documentation for project stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
•    Commitment to adhering to safety regulations, standards, and best practices in all design and installation processes.
•    Experience in conducting site assessments and inspections to validate design assumptions and ensure proper installation practices.
