Job Description: 

Job Summary

The Aggregate Plant Laborer supports the safe and efficient operation of the aggregate plant by performing routine maintenance, equipment operation, and site housekeeping activities. This position works with a variety of heavy equipment and assists in maintaining a safe, productive, and well-maintained work environment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily plant operations and maintenance activities.
  • Perform housekeeping duties including shoveling, washing equipment, and site cleanup.
  • Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment.
  • Safely operate equipment such as loaders, skid steers, haul trucks, graders, water trucks, and service trucks.
  • Lubricate and maintain plant and fleet equipment.
  • Identify and report mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Work collaboratively with plant personnel to meet production goals.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills

  • Previous front-end loader experience in aggregate, mining, quarry, construction, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
  • High School Graduate or GED
  • Willingness to learn, take direction and follow safe work procedures
  • Willingness to work weekends and long hours during peak season
  • Drug and alcohol free
  • Capable of working outdoors year round
  • Mechanical proficiency (useful but not necessary)
  • 1-2 year’s industry experience (useful but not necessary)
  • Knowledge of welding, cutting, and fabrication (useful but not necessary)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to safely climb equipment ladders and access operator cabs.
  • Ability to sit and operate equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work in dusty, noisy, and high-traffic industrial environments.
  • Ability to maintain situational awareness and react quickly to changing conditions.
