Compensation
$32.42 per hour
Job Summary
The primary responsibility of the Haul Truck Driver is to haul materials from one area to another area and disperse it where needed in a safe and productive manner.
Water Truck Driver- The primary purpose of a Water Truck Driver is to ensure that the area of responsibility remains compliant regarding dust minimization by properly applying sufficient water to the roads and stockpiles. The Haul Truck Driver may also be responsible for assisting the crew in washing specific areas within the plant site. As part of the job duties, the Haul Truck Driver will be required to complete necessary paperwork as described below.
Main Responsibilities
- Complete Daily pre/ post equipment inspections - report as needed
- Complete Environmental compliance reports - as requested (Water Truck)
- Inspect equipment prior to operation
- Inspect equipment prior to shift for safety, environmental and maintenance defects
- Maintain adequate cleanliness of equipment
- Monitor and assist crew in completing needed maintenance and housekeeping tasks to ensure compliant work tasks and safe work environment.
- Maintains production and inspection logs as requested by company
- Monitor environmental compliance (dust) of area
- Monitor ground conditions in area where working
- Report any defects to shop/ Foreman/ Site Manager
- Other duties as outlined by Foreman and/or Site Manager
Education and/or Work Experience
- 3 to 5 years previous experience working in an aggregate or construction environment
- Previous experience with basic water truck and/or haul truck maintenance practices
- Must be able to back under a loader and excavator
- Must be able to maneuver on steep grade
- Must be fully familiar with Haul Trucks
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license and be able to drive company vehicle
Skills
- Ability to understand and follow Company Handbook and Safety Policies
- Ability to work well with others
- Must be able to follow oral and written plans and directions
- Must have a strong mechanical aptitude
- Must have a strong, team-oriented work ethic with strong focus on safety and environmental compliance
- Must understand all your controls and have experience with various types of haul trucks
- Understand MSHA and OSHA regulations
- Working knowledge of environmental policies, standards, and best practices
Physical Requirements
- Ability to utilize hands and fingers in order to type and carry reports should the need require
- Ability to stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands throughout the workday should the need arise
- Ability to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch should the need arise
- Ability to sit for a long period of time, possibly more than 90% of the workday
- Ability to see clearly or with assistance via necessary correction
