Summary
Wapiti Gravel Suppliers, a divison of N.P.A., is hiring a Rock Truck Driver for the 2026 Construction Season!
The Rock Truck driver is responsible for the safe operation of haul trucks on the crushing plant site. This role also performs maintenance and labour tasks in relation to the crusher to ensure the plant is running smoothly and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and provide onsite maintenance as required.
- Operate the rock truck to maintain stockpiles and redistribute aggregate.
- Provide maintenance of crushing plant by completing the plant check list which includes checking belts, organizing screens, and performing changes.
- Shovel decks and ensure the crushing plant grounds are kept clean and free of debris.
- Regularly check temperature gauges to confirm the plant is running properly.
- Operate Skid Steer to clean area around the Crusher and any piles that may build up under belts.
- Troubleshoot any problems that can be fixed with basic welding, cutting, or grinding.
- Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
- Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.
- Must ensure a solid understanding of and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics.
- Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics.
- Other labour and operation related duties as required.
Qualification | Requirements
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
- Class 5 driver’s license
Working Conditions
- Weather dependent schedule of Monday to Saturday, up to 12 hours per day. Overtime is paid in accordance with applicable employment standards legislation.
- Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 LBS on a regular basis.
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required.
- Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
- Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.
