The Miller Group, is a leader in the public and private sectors with road and bridge construction, paving, road and bridge rehabilitation, construction management, winter maintenance services, aggregate-based materials, cement and ready mix concrete. 

 

With the continued growth and development of our businesses we have an opening in the Dartmouth location for a highly skilled and motivated Concrete Foreperson to join the Miller team.  We provide a stable, challenging and rewarding environment for professional growth and development.

 

A Foreperson supervises and directs a construction crew, ensuring that work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards. They act as a liaison between the crew and management, coordinating tasks, managing resources, and maintaining quality control.

Responsibilities:

  • Communication and team support; provide leadership to the crew
  • Adhere to schedule (i.e. starting on time and ensuring team productivity)
  • Ensure all products meet specifications
  • Administrative duties, including tracking quantities for production and payment
  • Manage client relationships in a professional and productive manner
  • Flexibility with work assignments and resources such as equipment and materials
  • Conduct ‘tail gate’ safety talks with staff to review policies and practices
  • Ensure crew adheres to safety practices including wearing all PPE and other requirements as needed
  • Review documents, ensuring accuracy and completion

Requirements:

  • 5 years experience in concrete or other related activities
  • Lead hand/supervisory experience
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to engage and manage the crew
  • Possess a valid minimum class 5 driver’s license with driver’s abstract meeting Miller’s expectations
  • Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required
