About the job

The Contracts Engineer is responsible for supporting the administration and management of contracts throughout the project lifecycle to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company standards. The role includes assisting in the preparation, review, and management of upstream and downstream contracts, monitoring contractual performance, handling correspondence, supporting variation and claims management, and coordinating with project teams, clients, and subcontractors. The Contracts Engineer also contributes to risk mitigation, cost control, contract close-out activities, and the preparation of reports and documentation to safeguard the company’s commercial and contractual interests.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

    • Finalizing upstream contracts with clients.
    • Supporting the project execution team in starting the Project (support in issuing Bonds and Insurances).
    • Preparation of contract management plans in line
    • Management of upstream contracts.
    • Management of partnership agreements.
    • Management of downstream contract.
    • Drafting of contractual corresponded and review of all correspondence issued by the Project.
    • Management of changes (variations and contractual deviations) and negotiating these changes with clients.
    • Preparation of claims for extension of time and claims for additional cost.
    • Preparation and review of minutes of meetings.
    • Close-out of the Project and final settlement of claims under upstream and downstream contract.

Qualifications/Experience required

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from recognized university

Experience:

3+ years’ experience among which at least 2 years in Contract Management

Experience in infrastructure or industrial projects

Experience in managing projects in Consortium or Joint ventures

Good linguistic skills

Good negotiation skills

Analytical thinking skills and problem-solving abilities

Attention to details

Knowledge of legal requirements involved with contracts

Language Requirements:

Arabic & English are a must, French is a plus.
