The Role
We are seeking an Equipment Performance Engineer to join our team in Bibra Lake, WA. Reporting to the State Equipment Manager, you will be responsible for analysing the performance, utilisation, maintenance, and lifecycle management of a diverse fleet of mobile equipment and asphalt production assets.
You will be instrumental in implementing new technology, enhancing maintenance systems, and delivering data-driven recommendations that improve operational performance and return on investment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and rollout of a new EAM system across mobile plant and asphalt plant operations.
- Develop and automate maintenance and operational KPI reporting for workshops and asphalt plants.
- Monitor and analyse plant and equipment performance, utilisation, reliability, and efficiency.
- Provide regular reporting and recommendations to operational leaders on asset performance and utilisation trends.
- Identify opportunities for asset replacement, refurbishment, or disposal based on age, cost, utilisation, and efficiency data.
- Support the Equipment Manager in managing and monitoring workshop operating expenditure (OPEX).
- Assist in the preparation, evaluation, and justification of capital expenditure (CAPEX) proposals.
- Track maintenance costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity and reduce lifecycle costs.
- Conduct equipment and plant audits across remote operations.

- Other operational improvement projects

- Assist in implementing and maintaining 6S standards across workshops, asphalt plants, laboratories, and quarries.
- Ensure all mobile and fixed plant assets comply with company, regulatory, and safety requirements.
- Monitor and support Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) compliance across plant and equipment operations.
- Promote a strong safety culture by supporting continuous improvement initiatives and best-practice maintenance processes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Degree qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- 2 + years’ experience in heavy mobile equipment, construction, mining, asphalt, quarrying, or industrial operations.
- Strong knowledge of asset management principles, maintenance strategies, and equipment lifecycle planning.
- Experience implementing or improving Enterprise Asset Management or Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
- Ability to travel to remote locations & interstate as required.
- Advanced analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret large data sets and provide practical recommendations.
- Excellent problem-solving, planning, and project management capabilities.
