Lead and oversee electrical engineering activities for rail projects, including design review, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems such as MV/LV networks, substations, and traction power. Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and project requirements while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, resolving technical issues, and supporting timely and efficient project delivery.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design review, implementation, and supervision of electrical systems in rail projects (e.g., power supply, traction systems, substations, signaling interfaces, and lighting systems).
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams ( MEP, signaling, telecom) to ensure seamless project integration.
- Supervise site activities, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, method statements, and safety standards.
- Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals.
- Oversee testing and commissioning of MV/LV systems, substations, and related electrical infrastructure.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex electrical issues to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Monitor project progress, provide technical reports, and highlight risks or delays to project management.
- Ensure adherence to project quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and regulatory requirements.
- Support planning and cost control teams with technical input and progress updates.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance and on-the-job training.
Qualifications/Experience required

Education:
Engineering bachelor’s degree
Experience:
6+ years’ experience in design engineering, specifically related to depot equipment in the rail or transportation industry.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems associated with depot operations, including maintenance equipment and lifting devices.
Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools for creating detailed technical drawings and models.
Experience in leading design projects, including the development of specifications, conducting feasibility studies, and overseeing the implementation of design solutions.
Excellent analytical skills for evaluating complex engineering problems and formulating effective solutions.
Strong project management skills, including budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Exceptional communication and leadership skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Language Requirements:
Arabic & English is a must, French is a plus.
